A Prayer for When You Are Spiritually Exhausted

God hears us in our exhaustion. He hears us when we are too drained to do anything but bow our head.
You don’t need to feel strong to stay faithful.
There are days when your soul is too tired to pray; days when just showing up feels like the win.
David knew all about spiritual exhaustion.
2 From the ends of the earth I call to you,
I call as my heart grows faint;
lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
3 For you have been my refuge,
a strong tower against the foe.
4 I long to dwell in your tent forever
and take refuge in the shelter of your wings.
Psalm 61: 2-4
Spiritual exhaustion is real, but the strength to stand doesn’t come from striving. It comes from surrender.
God doesn’t ask you to hold everything together. He is near to the brokenhearted and sustains the weary. When you’ve run out of words or energy, He is still holding you.
If you’re weary, this prayer is for you.
Lord, I’m tired.
I don’t have the words today.
I’m overwhelmed and worn thin.
But I know that You are near, even when I don’t feel it.
Hold me when I can’t hold on.
Be my strength when mine is gone.
Anchor me in Your presence.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
